"A wonderful place to stay; the reason we keep coming back! Thank you for a lovely stay"
Christopher & Grace - Ringwood, Victoria. July 2010.
Circa 1845-1855
When William Lythgo built his row of terrace cottages he could not have imagined that, 150 years later, they would attract so many honeymooners and the young-at-heart!
Set in a picturesque quarry garden just north of Hobart they beckon those enticed by the charm of village life. If quaint, old world ambience calls you to attic bedrooms and open fires, Lythgo's Row awaits your arrival.
Located in the Brighton area and within easy reach of Hobart Airport, The Row provides a central location from which to explore Southern Tasmania as well as a place to savour the final nights of a spectacular holiday.
Take your breakfast outside and potter round the flowery garden as you drink your coffee. This is country living, but only 25 minutes from Hobart. The three sandstone cottages, built between 1845 and 1855, form a cosy terrace with dormer windowed attic bedrooms. Pontville is a small village that has carefully preserved its Georgian heritage.
From here you can easily reach Hobart with its wealth of history, the pretty valleys of southern Tasmania, the historic midlands, the sand and sun of the east coast and, nearby, Brightons Bonorong Wildlife Park, home of Tasmanian devils, wombats, koalas, quolls, echidnas and more.
On your first day at Lythgos Row of Romantic Cottages youll be welcomed with complimentary chocolates, fruit, biscuits and an evening glass of port - a lovely way to start a great holiday.
